Going Home

Getting ready to take Kooper home.  Kashe was excited to get him out of the hospital. It made him a little nervous.

Kooper's Big Day

At  36 weeks I started getting really uncomfortable and thought for sure I was going to have Kooper early.  Instead on my due date I was still very much pregnant!  It turns out that he was breach at 36 weeks and I guess that is why I was in so much pain.  We got lucky and he flipped on his own so I wouldn't have to have a C-Section.  Once he flipped I actually felt pretty good.  I had got it in my head that I was going to have him early though so the last couple weeks were really LONG.  On my due date we went into the hospital for a stress test to make sure everything was still okay.  The doctors said everything was "Ok" but not "great."  Meaning Kooper was not being as active as they would have liked. (Now knowing Kooper I think it was just because he is a lazy baby).  Ben and I decided that it was time to get him out of there.  So they admitted us and we got started.

I think they started me at about 11:00.  The doctor came and broke my water at abut 1:00 and I had him at 7:15 on January 14th.  Things got a little scary for awhile because I was having a reaction to the epidural and  my blood pressure was extremely low.  Then his heart rate was really low and it went back and forth like that for awhile.  They turned the epidural way down and that helped me but Kooper was still having a hard time.  They told me if things didn't start looking better they were going to take me back for a c-section.  Once I dialated to about an 8 Kooper was all of a sudden okay and it was pretty easy from there on out.  I pushed twice and there he was.  (Much different than Kashe).

He has been a really sweet and happy baby and it has been fun to figure out how to be a family of four.

More Christmas

Christmas Morning
I think we were more excited than Kashe about his presents. We knew he was going to love them.
Santa brought him a kitchen and a race track.  He loves anything to do with cars so that was an easy pick and he had just started to really like playing kitchen at his aunts house.

He went for the kitchen first and cooked us some eggs.

My favorite thing is to play kitchen with Kashe.  He says "mom you want some wunch."

Kashe has loved cars since he was tiny and this race track is the ultimate for him.
He makes ramps and jumps his cars as they are going down.

Christmas party at Amber's house.

Christmas Eve

Still trying to catch up.......Christmas.
We spent Christmas in Evanston this year with Ben's family.  Christmas eve was at Christine and Andy's house.  Kashe had so much fun. It was fun to see him get excited about everything.

Eating with the kids. He had already spilled one drink and broke a glass at this point.

Opening his pajamas.

In his jammies with his book.  His cousins do like him I swear.  I'm not sure why he was so far away.

Thats better

Decorating some Christmas cookies.

You can kind of see his "yucky" face in this picture.  He doesn't love his hands to be dirty.

Shooting Monsters

Over the month of October Kashe discovered "monsters."  Now there is alot of talk about monsters and alot of shooting of monsters.  He has to get his gun and his Fireman hat and  he runs around shooting the monsters.

He calls  himself "Fireman Kashe"

Putnam Reunion

As always we enjoyed ourselves at the Putnman Reunion.  We had some rainy weather this year but it didn't stop us from having a great time.  All of my siblings were able to make it this year which was a special treat.  It was nice to spend time with them.  Of course Kashe loved  the train most of all.  He played on the train most of the time.  Thus all of my pictures are on the train.  Not sure why I only took three pictures.

Still Lovin some bathtime

Kashe is still a big fan of a good bath.  In fact that is what we do for entertainment around these parts now that the weather is so cold.  When he is getting a little cabin fever a good bath usually does the trick.  Some days he needs to give his "guys" a bath and takes in his action figures and other days he needs to give his "cars" a bath and he chooses his very special cars to take in the bath with him.

Haircut

Kashe doesn't have alot of hair but it does need trimmed now and again.  We haven't taken him in to get a "real" haricut yet.  Ben can usually get the job done.  Sometimes he sits real nice and other times he is not so patient.  I love to watch these two together and there is nothing better than a naked kiddo!

I don't know why I thought the sucker was a good idea!  It was covered in hair by the time they were done and Kashe was trying to spit the hair out of his mouth.
